Beats By Dre Pill (2024)

The Beats Pill (2024) is the long-awaited relaunch of Beats' iconic Bluetooth speaker – completely redeveloped from the ground up, with much better sound, double the battery life and a range of practical features that make the little speaker a serious everyday companion.

Beats has reworked everything when it comes to sound: a newly engineered racetrack woofer delivers 28% more motor force and moves 90% more air than its predecessor – the result is noticeably deeper, punchier bass with less distortion at high volumes. The newly developed tweeter in its own sealed housing delivers crisp highs and rich mids, and the drivers are tilted upwards by 20 degrees so that the sound goes straight to your ears – not into the tabletop. The result is room-filling sound that is genuinely impressive for its compact size of 21.9 × 7.1 × 7.0 cm.

Battery life has been doubled to up to 24 hours – twice that of its predecessor. And when you are in a hurry, Fast Fuel delivers another 2 hours of playback after just 10 minutes of charging. It charges conveniently via USB-C, and the USB-C output also lets you charge other devices directly from the speaker – handy as an emergency power bank on the go. Of particular interest to audiophiles: via USB-C cable, High-Resolution Lossless Audio is transmitted without any loss – far better than wireless.

Connectivity is state of the art with Bluetooth 5.3 (Class 1) – reliable connection, greater range and stable transmission even through obstacles. For spontaneous stereo sound, two Beats Pill speakers can be paired, and the speaker can also be used as a speakerphone for calls. It is compatible with both iOS and Android – with one-touch pairing for supported devices and automatic connection to known devices. Both Apple Find My and Google Find My Device are integrated – so the speaker can be located easily if needed.

With IP67 certification, the Beats Pill is fully dust- and waterproof – it survives brief immersion in water up to 1 metre deep for 30 minutes. The detachable lanyard made of robust material makes it comfortable to carry, and the soft-grip silicone back prevents it from slipping on smooth surfaces. Available in Matte Black.
